St. Albert Miners General Manger Jordan Cornfield grew up as a wrestling fan of Bret “Hitman” Hart. Thanks to a service called “Cameo“, he got a special message about his team from his childhood hero.
“Cameo” has thousand’s of stars across many genre’s where fans can pay for personalized video messages from their favourites. Here is the transcript of Bret Hart’s message:
“For the St. Albert Miners, courtesy of Tyson Cornfield. I just want to wish you all the best. I know it’s been a tough year but it’s time to get going. We have some great things to accomplish this year. I know the Presidents Cup is up pretty soon and the Nationals are your time to shine just like you guys did in 2016! 2017! 2018! And even in 2021, you’re going to prove to everyone yet again that you are the excellence of execution in everything you do and when it comes to being champions, the St. Albert Miners are the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be! There’s no stopping them. There’s no stopping you before, there’s no stopping you now because you are the best!”
When reading that transcript, how many of your inner voices changed into Bret Hart’s voice you came to the “best there is, the best there was and best there ever will be” segment?
As “the Hitman” alluded to, the St. Albert Miners will be hosting the 2021 Senior B Nationals called the Presidents Cup here in Alberta. No dates have been announced as of yet but the newly minted “Alberta Series Lacrosse” division looks bring the National Championship back to Alberta.
Prior to his WWE fame, Bret Hart wrestled in the Alberta wrestling promotion called “Stampede Wrestling”. If you watched the weekly episode on television you probably still have some ring-a-ding-dong-dandy Ed Whalen catch phrases in your vocabulary. Bring all your catch phrases out to a Miners game this spring!
